PLASTICS & RUBBER INDONESIA 2023: Support Industry Participants in their Endeavours to Innovate and Realize the Green Industry

Jakarta - November 15th, 2023 - Plastics & Rubber Indonesia 2023, the 34th edition of international plastics and rubber machinery, processing and materials exhibition is taking place at the Jakarta International Expo(JIExpo) Kemayoran until November 18th, 2023. Themed The Future of Plastics, the exhibition is committed to drive the adoption of green industrial practices to further boost domestic industry growth.

"Our exhibitors, from across the globe, will present the most recent advancements within the plastic and rubber industries, encompassing raw materials, innovative technologies, and waste management. This is
critical to reducing environmental impacts and promoting a sustainable industry. The Plastics & Rubber Indonesia Exhibition offers industry professionals access to knowledge, market insight, business opportunities,

Assessing the industry's growth in 2023, Ministry of Industry has reported that the export value from the plastic and rubber sector reached $1.68 billion in the early part of the year. Furthermore, this industry is among the eight subsectors that have experienced expansion up to June 2023. A significant contribution to the national economy is also notable from the mould industry.

According to the same releases, the export performance of the mould industry reached $15.8 million last year. On a global scale, the packaging printing market to be worth $375.05 billion this year, with a projected increase to $552.10 billion by 2028, marked by a Compounded Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 8.04% during the period from 2023 to 2028. With these projections in mind, industry players gradually adopt technological innovations to enhance productivity.

This four-days exhibition will display a vast array of the latest technologies and innovations including Metal Additive Manufacturing technology, Simultaneous Thermogravimetric Analyzer for moulds and dies, PLA (PolyLactic Acid) Granules as a new bio-based and renewable biodegradable plastic.

 

Strong Demand for Packaging Boosts Sustainable Industry Rate

The packaging industry plays a crucial role in the growth of the national economy, with this year's growth rate reaching 6%, surpassing the national growth prediction of 5%.

Ariana Susanti, Director of Business Development at the Indonesian Packaging Federation, emphasizes, "It is critical for industry stakeholders to intelligently respond to the growth of the packaging industry and harness Indonesia's potential resources for the production of biodegradable plastic raw materials, such as starch, seaweed, avocado seeds, and others. We anticipate the emergence of further sustainable innovations in the packaging sector with the excellent growth we have already seen and through collaboration among stakeholders at this event." 

Following the prior introductions of Plaspak Indonesia and Mould & Die Indonesia, Plastics & Rubber Indonesia is introducing a new sector, Plastic Recycling Indonesia, which will serve as a platform for stakeholders in the plastic waste recycling field to turn waste into products that are commercial and environmentally friendly.

Pamerindo is confident that this exhibition series provides the ideal platform for industry players to initiate business collaborations with global industry leaders, communities, and policymakers, all working together to support Indonesia in achieving its green industry goals.

Plastics & Rubber Indonesia 2023 will feature 474 prominent companies from 27 regions/countries including Bilplast Grapindo, Hitachi High Tech Indonesia, Pan Era Group, Polytama Propindo and Victory Blessings Indonesia. The 34th series of Plastics & Rubber Indonesia is supported by the Ministry of Industry, the Indonesian Packaging Federation (IPF), and the Indonesian Plastic Recycler (IPR).
